Summer Flings End

Yes, we’re in the midst of summer, which means hot days, warm nights, lots of alcohol and lots of potential for summer flings! Maybe you’re sick of flirtations that lead nowhere. Perhaps instead of chasing the hot, unavailable guy, you want something different. No more games. Maybe you want a real relationship built on honesty. A fling can be exciting, but excitement alone does not create security. Sometimes you have to stop repeating the same pattern before something lasting can begin.

Stop Controlling Love

I’m not a fan of The Rules. I don’t think winning a man’s affection depends on how well you pull one over on him or try to take control. I’m all about honesty, communication, and mutual respect. We often think, “if he just did this,” or “if he only could change that,” then we would be happy. Not so much. Trying to manage every detail can make dating feel like a strategy game. Real affection should not depend on tricks, tests, or manipulation.

Control Yourself

The only thing you can control is yourself, the way you react to and engage with a guy. A good relationship requires vulnerability and tearing down the walls that keep us from loving someone else. The goal is not to create a perfect partner on paper, but to visualize and really feel what you want. Letting go of control can make room for connection. That does not mean ignoring your standards or accepting poor treatment. It means being honest about your part in the relationship.

Build Real Intimacy

The book explores developing a good relationship through exercises that help you understand what you want. It teaches you, step by step, how to release the need to control everything. You’ll discover a new way to relate to a man, from the moment you meet him through commitment and marriage, and move toward the secure, loving, lasting relationship you have always wanted. The process asks you to face your fears instead of hiding behind a checklist.
